Both kids took swim lessons at the rec center. Trin had a recital and is moving up a class in dance. Also she is getting ready for Kindergarden! We just need the dentist visit witch she keeps trying to get me to put off.(she hates the dentist)
Vincent is really good at sports. Its so funny how one child can trip over their own feet while another is very cordinated. Vincent is our athlete and Trinity is our scholar.
Mark is doing well at work. Dad is still out of work. He's planning to retire in October, after his birthday.
Kids are running around crazy gotta go.
qdevenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09897361584172669602noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2022252201232703852.post-20183343341268852452009-02-28T16:24:00.000-08:002009-02-28T16:31:26.527-08:00The big 40So monday is my handsome hubby's 40ith birthday. I know he dosn't even look it right. Any who, he is way into fishing these day's so Friday he and I went shopping for a new fishing pole. One reason was his birthday, the other last year while fishing after dark he forgot one on the bank of whatever fishing spot he was at. Tell me how is it that every hobbie there is has so much stuff, that costs so much!
Anyway the exciting thing is that after we got said fishing pole plus fish scale. We went to a local furniture store and got a new living room set for our upstairs that we redid and never really funished. Mark is getting a really sweet bonus next month or we would not have been able to get it. So yay. Plus Monday my sister is going to babysit so we can have an evening out.qdevenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09897361584172669602noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2022252201232703852.post-6154727964142490382009-02-20T21:38:00.000-08:002009-02-20T21:40:30.980-08:00My friend April posted this tag/giveaway/challenge on her blog and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get something wonderful from her. Here is the tag, copied directly from her blog, that she copied from a friend, and so on and so forth.
:The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! my choice. for you. this offer does have some restrictions and limitations.
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It’ll be done this year. {translation: you may be waiting a little while}
4. You have no clue what it’s going to be … it may be cards, a poem, a bookmark, something yummy or a complete surprise to you (and me!) … who knows? not you, that’s for sure!
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.
6. Most importantly, you must offer the same deal on your blog -
the first 5 people to comment on your blog (or if you do not have a blog, facebook) get something made by YOU!7. He got to go pick out a cake Monday and of course chose a Power Ranger cake. The boy thinks he's a Power Ranger. Any way all week we were telling him his birthday was coming and that we were going to go to Chuck E Cheese. The morning of his special day was just too funny. Who would have guessed that a three year old would already know how to work the system. Mark had the day off and Vincent was begging him to play swords. Mark told him not right now but what Vincent told mark was too funny "No dad, my birthday, you play swords me" We could not help but laugh. And of course how could ya tell Vincent no when obviously he new it was his day. The party at C.E.C. went well apart from Trinity hiding under the table until Chuck E. left.
All for now. Later
qdevenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09897361584172669602noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2022252201232703852.post-35730800102486853922009-01-15T19:36:00.000-08:002009-01-15T19:53:51.927-08:00ouch!Ok the weirdest thing happened today at Sam's Club. My dad and I took the kids and were walking around getting samples and shopping. We came upon a sample of those TGI Friday's battered green beans. So I gave the kids some and took one for myself. Little did I know upon biting into it that I would break a piece of my tooth off. My back molar. I right away called my dentist, it was about 4 in the afternoon so I thought maybe they would see me. No such luck. They wanted me to come in at 10:30 tomorrow morning. So I go to the pay phone at Sam's and look for an urgent care dentist. It was beginning to hurt and I was not going to wait. I found one and then had to have them look up our new dental insurance because it's the beginning of a new year and my husbands work changed providers. (don't ya just hate that). We found out that we now have Met Life and thank goodness they accept it.
Now the dilema is, does my dad want me to drop him and the kids off at home, or just go with me to the dentist. By the way my dad is awsome and has been helping me so much with the kids since he's been layed off. He say's lets just all go. It's totally freezing out side so the stuff we bought at Sam's would be ok in the trunk.
We get there and they have I swear what must be the smalles reception area. I'm thinking oh great three kids and grandpa in here, ain't gonna happen. But thankfully we are in Utah were there are lots of big families and the male secretary starts handing out paper and pens for the kids. Lets them pick out a movie to watch and everything. I was so thankful for that.
Well basically they gave me two options, pull it or get a root canal. I really didn't want to pull it but a root canal would have ment three more follow up appointments. I just don't have that kind of time, and could not leave the kids with my dad that much. I really need an on-call babysitter. So I decided to have it pulled.
And now my pain meds are kicking in and as per instructions I get to take it easy cause too much movement or how did they put it (excitment could make the bleeding worse) how cool is that.qdevenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09897361584172669602noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2022252201232703852.post-3594604331861371752009-01-10T17:30:00.000-08:002009-01-10T17:41:15.545-08:00It's been a whileI know it's been a while since I last posted. Been so very busy. We are foster parents for our grandson Doreon now. Long story. My step son Damian is going back to his mom's in Washington. And I don't know how long it will take for Dorians mom to get him back. So we are going day to day and trying to keep three kids 5 and under busy. Trinity just had a recital on Jan 5th. She did great, alway's does. She loves being on stage. Vincent is still trying to learn colors, but doing much better with potty training. Only wears a pull up at night.
I recently had my 31st birthday. Told Mark if we are to have any more kids I would like it to be before the big 35, So we have a few years to decide.
My father Robert, was laid off Dec. 19th. We are trying to get unemployment going for him. It's a long process could take up to four weeks. My sister Latisha is doing well still working although her son Chris my nephew is in Oklahoma with his father and grandmother until she get's her own place. She's just renting one room in a house with other people. Mark is back to work he's been on vacation the last two weeks so we all are missing him right now.
That's a quick update until next time.qdevenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09897361584172669602noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2022252201232703852.post-28946430895604088762008-08-31T18:58:00.000-07:002008-08-31T18:59:41.625-07:00quote for the week'Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.'qdevenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09897361584172669602noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2022252201232703852.post-85232022672267842092008-07-30T20:55:00.000-07:002008-07-30T21:10:25.142-07:00Talk on the phone dayToday was one of those days when I just needed adult conversation. I don't think I put the phone down more than ten minutes. It started out as a good day we got up went to swim lessons. Mark didn't have to go in till noon. But after he left I just felt lonely. I have my kids with me but sometimes I need more than four and two year old talk. Am I alone on this? I love my kids and being a mom. I think I just need more for myself.
I'm not going to bore anyone with the woe is me and blah blah blah, I'm sure there is someone out there that would trade places in a heartbeat. Just neede to vent a bit.
On a good note Vincent did go #2 in the potty today! First time ever. He's doing great. Tomorrow is a busy morning. We have swim lessons at 9am then Trin has dance at 11am. That's a lot to do before noon. For me anyway.
I miss having my good girl friend here to hang out with on days like today. She now lives in Texas. You know who you are April. But I know it was a good thing cause she's doing so much there with the church and her kids. She's a great lady with a big heart, I have to learn to share her. Well tis all tonight.qdevenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09897361584172669602noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2022252201232703852.post-67463638007596985082008-07-27T18:09:00.000-07:002008-07-27T18:35:12.800-07:00giving him an outOk, so as I mentioned before I'm potty training my 2 year old son Vincent. Yesterday I had him in underwear at home and he was doing great letting us know when he had to "pee pee" as he say's it. But I had to run some errands so i put a diaper on him before we left(haven't bought pull ups yet waiting to run out of diapers). Anyway, we're at Dollar Tree and he runs up and says "Mom pee pee, pee pee" so I grab my purse out of the cart pick him up and rush to the back of the store hopeing they have a public restroom. They did. So I quickly strip him out of shoes(cause he insists on being completely naked from the waste down to pee) shorts and diaper. He goes pee in the store!!!!! The first time pottying away from home!!yeah!! We got home late so after bath we put him to bed in a diaper, I'm not ready to test out bed wetting just yet.
So today went pretty much the same he let us know when he had to pee, and whoever was closest Mark or I would rush him in and give lots of cheers and praise. But he still hadn't gone number 2 yet. I was wondering how that one would go. My daughter Trinity had a hard time staying on the potty when going number 2. She would stand up and it would get everywhere. I know pretty gross. But all part of parenting right? Around 3:oopm he starts acting funny saying "gotta go go go" and would run to the bathroom. But once in there would say "No" and run back out. After about the third time I figured he must have to go #2. So maybe because I was feeling bad for him, or cause he had been doing so well, I put a diaper on him so he could go #2. Ten minutes later I checked him, and he had gone #2. So I changed him and put underwear back on.
Well when I told Mark what happened he kind of got on to me saying "We can't give him an out like that cause in his mind it will seem like { ok I have to pee in the potty, but go #2 in my diaper} And he is totally right, but I wasn't even thinking of that. Any way It's about bed time for the kids, I'm tired cause I mowed the front and back yard today(even though there are 3 grown men that live here) Mark, Damian my step son, And my dad, Robert, don't think I mentioned that. But I burned some calories so all good. Night.qdevenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09897361584172669602noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2022252201232703852.post-78887050599283767402008-07-26T09:48:00.000-07:002008-07-26T10:00:03.982-07:00So this is me and my two kids. I love being a mom, and I am lucky enough to get to stay at home with them. My husband is a manager at the Home Depot. I also have a nineteen year old step son, and a grandson who is almost two. My daughter is 4 going on 20. And my son is 2 and just starting to potty train! We live in Utah and don't plan on leaving anytime soon.
Trinity is my daughters name she is a pure joy. Vincent is my son and a little more physical than his sister(who am I kidding ALOT more). I struggle with him more than I ever did with her. They are like night and day. My husband Mark and I have been together for 13 years. We have been married for 5. We moved to Utah from California in 1998. So that's some info about me and mine, still kind of new to the blogging think but I'm trying.qdevenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09897361584172669602noreply@blogger.com1
